Kolkata, Nov 23 (ANI): The Trinamool Congress (TMC) refused to attend the all party meet called by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to discuss the agenda for the Winter Session of the Parliament. TMC leader Derek O'Brien on Sunday said that TMC is not going to attend both the meetings scheduled at 4and5 pm. He added that sudden invitation for all-party meet shows government's bad planning. Sumitra Mahajan calls for all-party meet ahead of Parliament's Winter Session

New Delhi, Nov 23 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan called for an all-party meet in New Delhi to ensure smooth functioning of the winter session of the Parliament. Reportedly, there are 67 bills currently pending before the parliament. A bill that seeks to reserve 33 percent seats in parliament and provincial assemblies has been passed by the Rajya Sabha but is pending in the Lok Sabha due to lack of consensus among political parties. Winter Session of Parliament to begin from Nov 24

New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): The Winter Session of Parliament begins from November 24 and ends on December 23. It will consist of 22 sittings. There are 67 bills currently pending before the Parliament. Of these, nine bills were introduced in the previous Session of Parliament, while 40 of these were introduced in the 15th Lok Sabha, which was the regime of the UPA II Government. 18 other bills are pending from the earlier Lok Sabhas. The government has promulgated two ordinances in the last few months. These were the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Ordinance, 2014 and the Textile Undertakings (Nationalisation) Laws (Amendment and Validation) Ordinance, 2014. Bills to replace both these ordinances will have to be brought in this Session of Parliament to ensure that they do not lapse. Nov 22, 2014

New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): The Union Home Ministry has sanctioned Z-category security for yoga guru Ramdev. The yoga guru already has Z-category security provided him to by the Uttarakhand government, but the decision to grant him central security cover was taken after the Intelligence Bureau submitted a report citing a threat to his life outside his home state.
