Karnataka High Court notice to 22 legislators for 'whimsical' oath-taking

Bangalore, Oct 04 (ANI): The Karnataka High Court at Bangalore issued notice to 22 legislators (provincial lawmaker) and also ministers for violating norms at formal oath taking and swearing-in ceremonies. A petition filed in High Court observed that according to the Constitution of India, the oath for any constitutional post can be taken either in the name of God or if you don't believe in God you can take oath on your self conscience but these 22 MLAs including two ministers of ruling provincial government had sworn in the name of their voters and party leaders.
