Heavy rainfall damages road connectivity, isolates Tripura from rest of India

Agartala, July 05 (ANI): Tripura has been cut-off from the rest of the country as a large portion of the road connecting the state to the National Highway has been damaged due to heavy rains. Vehicular movement remained perturbed on National Highway 44 with the formation of big ditches and more than two thousand loaded trucks and passengers vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway. Truck and taxi drivers who were stranded without food and water complained that the concerned authorities responsible were not taking any step to solve the problem.They also alleged that a section of police and locals are making money by pulling the vehicles out of the mud with the help of bulldozers in exchange of a handsome amount. Yashwant Sinha released from jail in Jharkhand

New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha was released from jail in Jharkhand on Thursday after he agreed to pay bail on Wednesday. Sinha, was arrested a fortnight ago for inciting a group of BJP workers to tie up an Electricity Board official to protest against a lengthy power crisis in his former constituency of Hazaribagh. He had agreed to apply for bail after senior leader LK Advani visited him in jail to persuade him to file a bail plea. Advani met Yashwant Sinha on Tuesday and asked him to continue his movement against power cuts in Hazaribagh after getting released from jail.
