Bahrain Foreign Minister meets Indian PM Modi in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Bahrain Foreign Minister, Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Khalifa had arrived in the country on February 22 on an invitation by his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj. He co-chaired the first meeting of the India-Bahrain High Joint Commission with Swaraj. Khalifa also extended a letter of invitation to Modi to visit Bahrain on behalf of Prime Minister, Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa. The Foreign Minister recalled the deep emotional bonds of friendship that are felt by the people of Bahrain towards India and also conveyed the commitment of the Government of Bahrain to deepen bilateral relations, including in the areas of defence, security, counter terrorism, trade and investment. Northeast region emerges as a potential investment destination

Guwahati, Feb 20 (ANI): A steady decline in insurgency has given a boost to trade and commerce activities in the Northeast region. Recently, several Medium, Micro and Small industries from the northeastern region as well as from other states and neighbouring countries have come together to showcase their products at the ongoing 22nd Guwahati International Trade Fair. The fair organized by the Industries and Trade Fair Association of Assam in association with National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), was inaugurated by Union Cabinet Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Kalraj Mishra in the presence of several dignitaries including Bangladesh High commissioner. The Union Minister attended the inaugural session of the Northeast MSME Conclave at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship and highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by the centre for promoting entrepreneurship in the MSME sector in the region. Oman, Feb 18 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Wednesday said that the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is on her first visit to Oman and that the visit will focus on the strategic issues between the two countries. He added that there was discussion on specific investment opportunities including in the sector of storage of agricultural products, as well as on medical treatment. Japanese business leaders call on PM Modi

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): President of Japanese industrial company Hitachi, Toshiaki Hingashihara, called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Hitachi, a leader in construction machinery and air-conditioning systems in India, is expanding in new areas such as information and telecommunication systems, power systems, industrial, transportation and urban development systems. Hingashihara reportedly is willing to contribute towards the development of India as he believes it is becoming an increasingly important country for Hitachi's global growth. The company wants to participate in government-led efforts and provide a wide range of products and solutions, such as social infrastructure systems as advanced medical devices and railways, say reports.
