Sachin Pilot named Rajasthan Congress Chief

New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): The Congress Party has appointed Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Sachin Pilot as the new president of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. The 36-year-old Minister for Corporate Affairs is a close associate of party Vice President Rahul Gandhi and is the son of late Union Minister Rajesh Pilot and Rama Pilot, who was also MP for a term. Pilot's appointment as PCC chief comes a month after the party's poor performance in the desert state. The Congress could secure just 21 out of the 200 Assembly seats in Rajasthan, leading to the exit of the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government. Jan 13, 2014
