Reports of attack on Venezuelan military fort as armed men call for uprising

A group of military men reportedly launched an uprising in Valencia, Venezuela. A video circulating shows the men in uniform calling to rebel against the government.A man in the video identified as Juan Carlos Caguaripano Scott stated he was the head of the group. He said the group planned civilian and military action to re-establish constitutional order. Witnesses heard gunshots near Paramacay military fort. Venezuela: Inauguration of constituent assembly sparks new protests

Venezuela has inaugurated the new legislative superbody elected last week. The 545-member constituent assembly has been condemned by governments across Latin America, the U.S. and EU. Opposition protesters clashed again with security forces in Caracas. They believe the assembly endangers Venezuelas democratic freedoms.
