Displaced men in Bokaro protest in water to demand employment

Bokaro, Aug 17 (ANI): Displaced youth in Bokaro city of Jharkhand stood in water on Sunday to protest against government as they demanded employment. The protest has been on for over 40 hours, and the protesters are urging the government to employ them with the Bokaro steel plant. Protesters refused to accept the request of state government authorities of ending the protest and made it clear that if their demands are not met, they will breathe their last in water. Khushwaha also said that no authority official had visited them or offered them water and food and they have been drinking dirty pond water. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 52.15 points up to stand at 7,791.70. JSW Steel and Indiabulls Real Estate were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 8.25% and 5.57% along with Unitech and Wockhardt with an increase of 4.71% and 4.60% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Bhushan Steel and Suzlon Energy with a decrease of 4.97% and 4.62% along with Eicher Motors and Hero Moto Corp with a decrease of 3.75% and 2.65% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 2.65 points at 16,348.06 while the banking sector is up 184.23 points at 17,251.19 and the reality sector is up 31.03 points at 1,808.78. Mumbai, Aug 13 (ANI): Tata Motors Limited began selling its new passenger car, its first offering in four years, in a bid to regain market share and plug losses in its domestic business, which was also hit hard by a slowing economy. The car, named Zest, is a compact sedan built on a new platform and, in a departure from previous models, boasts user-friendly features such as touch screen control panels. Shares of Tata Motors Limited, India's biggest automaker by revenue, jumped more than six percent after strong sales of its luxury Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles helped triple the company's first-quarter net profit.
