Belgaum, Nov 16 (ANI): At least 22 people were killed early on Saturday when a mini-truck in which they were travelling toppled on a highway near Belgaum. The victims include nine women and five children. The mishap occurred when the mini-truck overturned after its driver lost control and hit a roadside kerb at a junction on the state highway. The victims were going to Saundatti, a border town in the northwest region from Surpur in Karnataka's northeast Yadgir District, which is about 540 kilometers from Bangalore. Police have registered a case against the driver and the vehicle's owner under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rash and negligent driving resulting in deaths. Nov 16, 2013

At least seven killed after bus catches fire in Karnataka

Karnataka, Nov 14: At least seven people were killed and several others injured after a luxury bus caught fire in Karnataka on Thursday. Reportedly, the incident took place when the bus, carrying more than 40 passengers was travelling from Bangalore to Mumbai, collided with a road divider and caught fire in Haveri district.
