India, Bangladesh sign treaty to curb cross-border crime

Agartala, Feb 05 (ANI): India and Bangladesh officials signed an agreement on real-time information sharing to curb cross-border crime at the two-day district-level border conference in Tripura. A wide range of issues like smuggling, trans-border crime, insurgent movement, narcotics, human trafficking, and cattle lifting were discussed between officials of the countries. India, Bangladesh border talks kick off in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 04 (ANI): India, Bangladesh joint district-level border conference to resolve trans-border issues kicked off in Tripura. A wide range of issues like smuggling, trans-border crime, insurgent movement, narcotics, human trafficking was discussed between officials of both the countries. Both the sides expressed satisfaction and said dialogue not only helps in mutually sorting disputes at grass-root level but also helps in confidence building between the nations. Officials of both sides maintained that frequent dialogue should take place at regular intervals as it helps in better coordination and improving ties. Issues related to four districts of Bangladesh and Tripura would be tabled on last day of two-day talks. Similar conferences would also be held in Assam and Meghalaya to sort out border issues. Agartala, Feb 1 (ANI): India shares over 4 thousand km long border with Bangladesh out of which 1,880 km is with the northeast region only. Officials of both India and Bangladesh meet regularly to discuss border issues, including cross-border movement of insurgent outfits. Recently, a 30 member delegation from Bangladesh was in Agartala to attend the India-Bangladesh district magistrate level Joint Border Conference. The delegation included district commissioner cum magistrates, BGB and police officials of 5 bordering districts with southern part of Tripura, while the Tripura team had DCMs, BSF and police officials of 4 bordering districts. Lawyers protest in Moradabad for a high court bench

Moradabad, Jan 30 (ANI): Protesting lawyers blocked train movement in Moradabad city on Friday, demanding a high court bench in the city. The lawyers have been demanding establishment of a high court bench in Moradabad for a long time. They threatened to intensify their stir, if their demand was not met. They also urged people to join their agitation as it would bring justice to their doorsteps. On Thursday, the lawyers went on a rampage destroying court property and held a sit-in at the court premises.
