Woman paraded naked in Rajasthan, 30 accused arrested

Rajsamand, Nov 11 (ANI): Police arrested 30 accused for allegedly parading a woman half naked in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan, said a senior officer. The 40-year-old woman was allegedly stripped and paraded on a donkey across a tribal village by village council members who were accusing her of being involved in a murder case at Thurabad village in Rajsamand district. Police registered the case, following the complaint filed by the woman’s husband, Uday Singh. Police said that the woman was humiliated by the village council members for being involved in an alleged murder. District collector Verma and other officials visited the village after the incident. Security beefed up before murder-accused Rampal produced in court

Chandigarh/ Hisar, Nov 10 (ANI): Police and state administration in Punjab beefed up security measures on Monday (November 10) hours before murder-accused Sant Rampal is produced in court for contempt. Rampal faces contempt for skipping judicial proceedings before a sessions court in Hisar last Wednesday (November 05), after which a non-bailable warrant was issued against him and his aide. He had been earlier shifted to Barwala town in the Hisar district but will now be produced in the joint state Punjab and Haryana High Court. The District Collector (DC) of the Chandigarh administration where Rampal is to be produced later on Monday (November 10), Mohammed Shayin, said that security measures had been beefed up judging how last time about 50, 000 of his supporters had collected in protest. Rampal has been charged with murder; attempt to commit murder and other charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in 2006 after his followers attacked villagers. Nov 10, 2014

Puttaparthi, Nov 10 (ANI): Police arrested three accused for allegedly killing an Australian woman on the outskirts of pilgrim town Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, said a senior officer. Superintendent of Police, Sriniwas Lu said Toni Anne Ludgate was murdered by the watchman of an apartment where she was staying. Ludgate was murdered by the security guard of her apartment complex with the help of two accomplices on August 28 as the guard was unable to return the rupees 20,000 he owed her. Earlier, police exhumed body of Ludgate, who went missing over two months ago. Nov 10, 2014
