Bangalore, July 29 (ANI): Civil society and the police organized a seminar recently to spread awareness on child abuse matters and new legal provisions among police officials in Bangalore. Bangalore Police Commissioner, M N Reddi, stressed upon upgrading the awareness and knowledge among police officers about POCSO. The city of Bangalore and the issue of child safety featured in news when a student of first grade, in one of the city's schools was assaulted by the skating instructor on July 02 who was arrested on July 20. Teary-eyed families bid adieu to IAF officers killed in helicopter crash in Sitapur

Bareilly, July 27 (ANI): Sombre yet proud families of personnel, who died in an Indian Air Force helicopter crash, paid their last tribute to their loved ones. Seven persons, including two pilots were killed when an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed on Friday (July 25) in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. IAF officials, including Air Chief Arup Raha, and kin of the deceased gathered in Bareilly to present guard of honour and to pay last rites to three of the killed officials, Bhagat Singh, P Mukherjee and Manoj Yadav. Kathmandu, July 26 (ANI): Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj, who is in Nepal for a three-day visit said the neighbouring country was top priority for the government. Swaraj will co-chair third meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission, which is taking place after 23 years. The commission is expected to review the entire range of bilateral relations. During her visit, she will also meet her Nepalese counterpart Mahendra Bahadur Pandey. Swaraj hoped her visit would boost India-Nepal ties. The meeting will hold discussions in five different clusters -political, security and border issues; economic co-operation and infrastructure; trade and transit; power and water resources. Bhubaneswar, July 23 (ANI): The family of deceased security personnel, Pramod Kumar Satapathy, demanded capital punishment for the top Maoist leader, Sabyasachi Panda, who was arrested and sent to 10 days of police custody. Special Operation Group commando, Satapathy, was one of the 17 officers who laid down their lives in the process of fighting armed Maoists on February 15, 2008 in Nayagarh district of Odisha.
