Xi Jinping addresses ICWA, assures supporting India for permanent membership in UN Security Council

New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): While addressing Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) in Delhi, Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday said that India is a colourful nation and that both sides have agreed to forge a closer partnership for development. Jinping said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India and China are two bodies and one soul which reveal connection between the two nations. Jinping further made an important announcement and said that China will support India for a permanent membership in the UN Security Council. Backlogs regarding development of northeast will be cleared: VK Singh

New Delhi, Sept 16 (ANI): Minister for Development of Northeast Region, General Vijay Kumar Singh, said that development of the northeast region was a concern. Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, General Singh said development takes time and his ministry was reviewing the development projects operational in the region. The ministry is planning to establish national skill development council and calling in experts to provide skill development in northeast. Meanwhile, the minister said the Northeast Councils (NECs) could play a vital role in pushing the developmental model. United Naga Council in Manipur lifts ban on National projects and Traffic

Manipur, Sept 12 (ANI): The civil organization, United Naga Council (UNC), in Manipur on Friday lifted its indefinite ban on national projects in the state and on vehicular traffic on national highways. The UNC had called for a shutdown from 6 am in Ukhrul district on September 04 to protest against the killings of two civilians, Mayopam Ramror and VS Ramkasing by security forces. An expert, Professor Amar Yumnam, said that the state government imposed 144 CrPC in such a way that it jeopardized the situation.
