Panchkula, Nov 20 (ANI): Controversial religious leader Rampal finally saw his day behind the bars at the Panchkula police station. He was arrested last night after days of resistance from his supporters that turned Haryana's Barwala town into a war zone. Rampal is to be produced at the Punjab and Haryana High Court today around 2:00 PM. While being taken from hospital to police station, Rampal said that all allegations against him are false. The religious leader's supporters alleged that they were not kept hostage in the ashram but were afraid to come out. Hisar, Nov 20 (ANI): Police has arrested self-styled murder accused godman, Sant Rampal charged with criminal conspiracy and riot, from his Satlok Ashram in Hisar. Rampal will be produced before the Chandigarh court today. A top official of Haryana Government, Jawahar Yadav, who is officer on special duty (OSD) to chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, said the government's priority was to protect the hostages at the Satlok Ashram. Hisar, Nov 19 (ANI): Residents of Hisar in Haryana offered food to police and media personnel positioned outside the fortified hermitage of self-styled godman Rampal, who is wanted on murder charges, on Wednesday. Residents said that after seeing the situation where police and media persons have been injured, they decided to offer help. Media persons were attacked by police during clashes with the Rampal's supporters on Tuesday (November 18). The incident occurred after followers of Rampal opened fire at police personnel standing on guard outside the hermitage, thus forcing police to resort to baton charge and firing, leaving many injured and two police personnel getting shot.
