Chennai, July 05 (ANI): Women members of the Anti Nuclear People's Movement held a news conference in Chennai on Saturday, saying another reactor is not required, following the government's plan to start a third and fourth reactor as an expansion of the present nuclear power plant in Idinthakarai village of the area. Member of Anti Nuclear People's Movement, Malar, said that they are demanding the government to stop the unnecessary expansion of the nuclear power plant. Weavers & Jewellers keep hope of promising financial plan alive ahead of 2014 budget

Varanasi/Rajkot, July 05 (ANI): Indian weavers and jewellers hoped for a promising financial plan for their respective sectors ahead of budget, which will be presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on July 10. The weaving industry in Uttar Pradesh expected modernisation of its power looms so that the country could compete with China in terms of production. However, one of their pressing concerns was the fate of the handloom industry. Weavers expect concessions from Narendra Modi-led government so that they could get fabric at fair prices and the art continues. Jewellers in Rajkot city of Gujarat also have expectations ahead of the announcement of fiscally prudent budget. They said import duty on gold should be reduced from 10 per cent so that more people buy gold and business booms. Jul 5, 2014
