BJP shows commitment to pass Lokpal Bill

Chennai/ New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday stated that the Lokpal bill is not between two individuals and is now a matter of the parliament, adding that the party is committed towards passing the bill. Addressing mediapersons in Chennai, party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said that the party will see what amendments has central government made in the bill. Ralegan-Siddhi, Dec 15 (ANI): After AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal said that Anna Hazare is misguided about the amended Lokpal Bill, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi slammed him and said that Kejriwal is misguiding the people. Bedi said that there are people around Anna who have done proper research on the bill and that these people are well educated and not illiterate and that there is no chance of any mis-conception in Anna's mind. He also stressed on the importance of the bill getting passed in the ongoing session of the Parliament. New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Cutting across party lines, political leaders on Friday paid homage to those who had lost their lives in the 2001 Parliament House terrorist attack. Vice President M. Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley and several other leaders offered floral tributes to the martyrs at a solemn ceremony in New Delhi. It was on this day in 2001, heavily armed-terrorists infiltrated the Parliament House and began firing their weapons during the time of Parliament session.
