Mamata, Akhilesh to attend Nitish Kumar's oath taking ceremony today

Patna, Feb 22 (ANI): A host of political leaders including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav are scheduled to attend senior JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar's swearing-in ceremony on Sunday. Nitish will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar at the Raj Bhawan. He will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi. Nitish had on Friday met the Governor and staked his claim to form the next government in Bihar following the resignation of Jitan Ram Manjhi from the top post ahead of the crucial trust vote in the state assembly. He had also apologised to the people of Bihar for his 'emotional decision' to step down. Nitish had stepped down as the state Chief Minister after his party's dismal show in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. PM Modi attends 'Tilak' Ceremony of Mulayam Singh Yadav's Grand-Nephew

Saifai, Feb 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attended the pre-wedding ceremony or Tilak of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's grandnephew Tej Pratap Yadav in Saifai village. Tej Pratap is marrying Raj Lakshmi, the youngest daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad. A staggering 100,000 invites have been sent out for the ceremony. Tej Pratap Singh Yadav is a Lok Sabha member from Mainpuri. Saifai village, some 25 km from Etawah, is buzzing with frantic activity for the ceremony. Delicacies like bedai, baati-chokha and halwa soaked in desi ghee would be served. According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan has also confirmed his presence. Reactions come in after PM Modi gives assurance to Christian community on religious tolerance

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Reactions come in from political circle as well as Christian community after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured of religious tolerance and strongly asserted his government’s commitment to ensure equal respect to all religions in India. Delhi Archbishop Anil J Couto said that the statement is very assuring and that they have full faith in the prime minister. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien said that there can be differing elements in any party, but the people should focus on what the prime minister has to say. BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi also supported Modi and the BJP government’s agenda. Meanwhile, Congress leaders are of the view that there is a great difference between what Modi says and what he preaches and therefore the words should be believed only when its comes into action.
