Tripura, Nov 25 (ANI): Indian Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and his Bangladeshi counterpart Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir were in Tripura on November 17 to inaugurate the first multi-purpose Integrated Check Post along the Bangladesh border at Akhaurah. India plans to set up 5 such posts with Bangladesh to further boost trade and people to people contact between the northeastern states and Bangladesh. The Akhaura land customs is one of the most important international trading land ports in eastern India, dealing with around 4,500 people every month travelling between the two countries. Cyclone Helen: Andhra Pradesh braces for nearing landfall

Vishakhapatnam, Nov 22 (ANI): As the Cyclone Helen is predicted to hit Andhra Pradesh on Friday evening, by the CWC Duty Officer D Sagar, the state braces for the same with various security measures taken by the state government. The cyclone is to hit the Machilipatnam area first following which comes other districts like vijayanagram, etc. Sagar predicted heavy rainfall and the wind speeds of upto 100-110 km/h. Cyclone Helen to hit coastal southern India: IMD

Vishakhapatnam, Nov 21 (ANI): The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) predicts a severe cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours (November 22) with strong winds, heavy rainfall and big tides already lashing along the coastal Andhra Pradesh. Duty officer, Krishna Bhagavan at the cyclone warning centre of the IMD gave the weather forecast. Fishing operations have been completely suspended due to the sea condition that is expected to get rough.
