New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Political leaders reacted on Tuesday after Land Acquisition Bill got tabled in the Lok Sabha amid chaos in Rajya Sabha as discussion was being held. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that they will meet a delegation of farmers and listen to their pleas. Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, RJD leader JP Yadav, NCP leader DP Tripathi said that they are with Opposition on Land Acquisition Bill. Ordinances cannot bypass Parliament: Jaitley on Land Acquisition

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said that Ordinances and laws cannot bypass the Parliament adding that the government was well within its rights to take the Ordinance route, amidst an uproar in the Rajya Sabha over the Land Acquisition Bill. Congress leader Anand Sharma, however, shot back saying Jaitley expected the Parliament to rubber stamp the Ordinances. The government is today introducing the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Bill, 2015 in the Parliament to replace the Land Acquisition Ordinance. The government had last year in December circulated the ordinance which had brought changes in the previous bill passed in 2013 by the UPA regime. Earlier in the day, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge had termed the Land Acquisition Bill as 'anti-farmer' and added that his party will counter it tooth and nail by taking support from all the opposition parties. TMC MPs stage protest outside Parliament against Land Acquisition Bill

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): TMC MPs on Tuesday staged protest outside Parliament against the BJP government's Land Acquisition Bill. The party leaders shouted slogans against the Land Acquisition Bill calling it 'anti-farmer'. Dressed in green attires, the TMC MPs demanded taking back the bill. Under pressure from all quarters the Narendra Modi government is all set to introduce the controversial Land Acquisition Amendment Bill 2015 to replace the contentious ordinance in Lok Sabha today. However, opposition parties are firm to protest against the same inside the Parliament too. This along with five other ordinances would expire on March 20, if not passed during this Budget Session. All-party meet ahead of budget session underway

New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): Ahead of parliament's Budget session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior ministers and leaders of opposition parties are holding an all-party meeting in New Delhi called by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu, to explore consensus on passing key legislations, including bills to replace ordinances on land acquisition and mining. The meeting comes even as the Communist Party and activist groups including Anna Hazare are set to protest against the Land Ordinance accusing it of being anti-farmer.
