Japan Foreign Minister says will invest in India's northeast

New Delhi, Jan 17 (ANI): Japan Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said on Saturday that Japan would invest in building roads and infrastructure in India's northeast. Building infrastructure such as power plants, industries and telecommunication hubs in the northeast would be a major contributor to connect the key region with Southeast Asian countries. Japan has promised to give India $ 35 billion for developmental projects. Kishida arrived in New Delhi on Friday to co-chair the eighth India-Japan Strategic Dialogue with his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj. Petition filed in HC for removal of Madan Mitra from West Bengal Cabinet

Kolkata, Jan 16 (ANI): Lawyer Subhrojit Bahaduri filed a petition on Friday Kolkata High Court seeking removal of Madan Mitra from the post of state Transport Minister as he is in jail in the Saradha chit fund case. He cannot also perform his duties as a minister from behind the bars, the petitioner said. Stating that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has not yet removed Mitra from her Cabinet, the petitioner requested for the court's intervention to direct the state government to remove Mitra. Politicos react as CBI questions SEBI member in Saradha scam

New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): Politicos reacted as CBI on Monday examined a whole-time member of SEBI in connection with the Saradha Chit Fund Scam. SEBI member Rajeev Kumar Agarwal was summoned to CBI's Kolkata office on Monday and was questioned for over four hours. This is the first time a serving member of SEBI has come under CBI scrutiny.
