Jorhat, Nov 02 (ANI): Kaziranga National Park in Assam, which is home to the largest number of one-horned rhinos has been reopened for the visitors. Forest minister of Assam Rockybul Hussain inaugurated the re-opening by cutting the ribbon amid prayers and rituals. Hussain also flagged off the first batch of elephant safari of 13 elephants for a group of tourists from countries like Australia, United States and United Kingdom. Hussain also urged the people to be more committed for the conservation and protection of the rich bio-diversity of the park and help in maintaining its natural beauty. The Kaziranga National Park is a World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the world's great one horned rhinoceroses. Nov 2, 2014

Home Minister Rajnath Singh salutes brave ITBP personnel on their 53rd Raising Day

Surajpur, Oct 24 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday saluted the brave ITBP personnel on their 53rd Raising Day. The ITBP was raised on October 24, 1962. Presently, the ITBP is deployed on border guarding duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh covering 3,488 km of Indo-China border and manning Border Outposts on altitudes raging from 9000' to 18700' in the Western, Middle and Eastern Sector of the Indo-China border. The ITBP is a specialized mountain force and most of the officers are professionally trained mountaineers and skiers. Being the first responder for natural disaster in the Himalayas, the ITBP has been carrying out numerous rescue and relief operations. Oct 24, 2014
