New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh paid his respects to the police officers who have sacrificed their lives for the nation at the police memorial ground in Chanakyapuri, on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day in New Delhi on Tuesday. October 21 is observed as 'Commemoration Day' every year in all police lines throughout the country to mark the memory of the gallant personnel who were killed in Ladakh and all other police personnel killed on duty in 1959. New Delhi, Oct 19 (ANI): Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath said that elaborate arrangements are made for polls and counting by the teams and every counting centres are under tight security. He said that the EC is happy with the increase in percentage of voters with time but this needs to further go up. Further, Sampath said that assembly polls in Jammu & Kashmir is under screening and that officers are taking stock of the situation in the state and all the views of the political parties are taken in the matter. PM Modi meets top military officers at Combined Commanders' Conference

New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met top military officers at the defence ministry War Room at a time when tension continues along the border with both China and Pakistan. The Combined Commanders' Conference is the first meeting of the prime minister with all top commanders, including the three service chiefs. The three service chiefs are expected to give elaborate presentations to the prime minister on the security scenario. The Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, will make the first presentation, followed by the Indian Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan and the Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh. The prime minister and Defence Minister Arun Jaitley will address the conference.
