Salman Khan and Nita Ambani kickstart a football movement

Salman Khan along with Nita Ambani came forward to support grassroots football movement. This programme will create a platform for the development of grassroots football activity and talent-scouting across the country. The ISL grassroots programme aims to reach out to a million young footballers in the first few years and expose them to the best practices in global football. In the first phase, the grassroots programmes will aim to reach out to 500,000 children through in-school and maidan initiatives, beginning early 2015. The outreach programmes will focus on introduction of kids to football, training and talent-scouting through a series of selection modules across the country. ISL Young Champs Programme kicks off in Mumbai

Mumbai, Dec 07 (ANI): Founder and chairperson of Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), Nita Ambani, on Sunday launched the Indian Super league (ISL) grassroots football movement at a school in Mumbai. The ISL Club programmes, which aim at talent-scouting across India, kick starts in early 2015 and will nurture 5,00,000 school children. It is a joint effort of eight ISL clubs and three India based non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Also present at the event was Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan, who along with Ambani, motivated children to take part in the game enthusiastically. Best players among children will be selected for Young Champs scholarship which will last for a period of three-to-seven-years and will also provide for the children's educational expenses. Poultry industry of Tamil Nadu severely affected by outbreak of Bird Flu

Coimbatore, Dec 6 (ANI): The outbreak of bird flu in neighbouring Kerala caused a setback to the poultry industry of Tamil Nadu. Thousands of dead ducks infected by a highly contagious bird flu virus were found in Kerala, prompting the authorities to cull more than 200,000 birds. Kerala had banned the movement of the chickens from Tamil Nadu due to bird flu threat. President of Broiler Chicken Traders Association of Coimbatore, Kandaswamy said that their chicken stock has accumulated. A poultry farmer Manivannan said that business was severely affected due to bird flu threat in Kerala. Dec 6, 2014
