Investigation reveals arms recovered in Samjhauta Express being smuggled across border

Amritsar, March 08 (ANI): Initial investigation into the case of arms seizure from six people travelling in Samjhauta Express train travelling between India and Pakistan revealed that the weapons were being smuggled from Lahore to Delhi. The deputy commissioner of Indian Customs Department, Gurdev Singh, said that they were trying to establish the motive behind the smuggling of the arms. Indian customs officials recover 6 people with arms in Samjhauta Express

Attari, March 07 (ANI): Indian customs officials arrested six people, including two women at the Attari railway station in Punjab while they were returning from Pakistan on the Samjhauta Express that runs between New Delhi and Lahore. Eleven pistols and 22 empty magazines were seized from them. The alleged arms smugglers, who were coming from Pakistan, had hidden the arms in juicer and wheat mincing machines. Deputy Commissioner of Indian Custom Department, Gurdev Singh, said during routine check up of the luggage, the officials got suspicious and confiscated them.
