Jim Corbett National Park shuts for tourists during monsoons

Jim Corbett, July 17 (ANI): Wildlife authorities of Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand launched night patrolling inside the premises to curb poaching and smuggling activities during monsoon. The authorities have commenced _monsoon operation_ as a preventive measure against poachers. They have also closed primary routes of the national park for four months during monsoons as it becomes dangerous for tourists. Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve, Sameer Sinha, said adequate staff members have been deployed to keep a strict vigil. The two primary zones, _Dhikala_ and _Bijrani_, have been completely restricted from any tourist activity. The main routes of national park include hilly areas and grasslands, which become unsafe for tourists to travel during rains. Uttarakhand encourages Organic tea farming to boost business

Uttarakhand, July 12 (ANI): The Uttarakhand state encourages farmers to indulge with organic tea plantations in a bid to boost business in international markets. With the growing demand in organic products, Uttarakhand has initiated organic tea farming in the hill town of Nainital. This has given way to improve the sales of local businessmen. The organic tea is being exported to various countries including Japan and Korea. Recently, 218 hectare of land has been converted to organic plantations in Gorakhalal area in Nainital hills.
