Dhaka, Mar 1 (ANI): One of Bangladesh's leading lawyers, Barrister Tureen Afroz recently hailed the country’s Law Minister Shafique Ahmed’s demand for conducting a speedy trial of Pakistani war criminals, accused of committing genocide during the 1971 liberation struggle. The Law Minister had hinted that 195 war criminals, who were handed over to Pakistan by Shimla Agreement -- tripartite treaty between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh – be brought to justice. Afroz said amnesty cannot be granted to war criminals under the Vienna convention, adding that international treaty is not binding on Bangladesh legal system unless approved by the parliament. Guwahati, March 01 (ANI): Political leaders and activists welcomed the move by central government to constitute an expert committee to examine the demand for a separate Bodoland state from Assam, days after the Parliament passed the bill for the creation of a new Telangana state. The one-man expert committee was set up on Thursday, which would submit its report in nine months after consulting every section of the society on the creation and validity of Bodoland.
