Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje attends 1st NITI Aayog meeting, discusses problems facing the state

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje among other state chief ministers attended the first NITI Aayog meeting headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. Presenting her views at the first meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, Raje suggested for allowing the states to prepare and implement various development projects as per the regional conditions and providing central funds for such schemes. Raje also suggested for setting-up an empowered-committee under the NITI Aayog for coordination and resolution of issues of various projects initiated by various ministries and state governments. She also suggested to restrict the number of centre-sponsored schemes to 10 and to allow the states for utilisation of rest of the funds for such central schemes. Feb 9, 2015

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi on Monday said that 130 Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will meet Governor KN Tripathi and ask him to let Nitish Kumar to take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Earlier on Sunday, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi maintained that he will continue to retain the top post till the legislative council in the state assembly decides otherwise, adding that he will take the support of anyone who supports him on the floor. Assured NITI Aayog that Odisha will partner centre in its programs: Naveen Patnaik

New Delhi, Feb 08 (ANI): After attending NITI Aayog meeting, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday said that he assured the Aayog that the state will partner centre in its programs like Make in India, Skill India, etc. He said that the he advised the governing council meeting to capture the concerns of the states and asked for an enhanced allocation for infrastructure projects including national highways rural roads etc. in the state. PM Modi chairs first meeting of newly created NITI Ayog in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday (February 08) chaired the first meeting of the governing council of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) in New Delhi. The formation of the forum was announced on August 15, 2014 by Modi during his maiden Independence Day address from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort. Modi has accused 65-year-old Planning Commission of stifling growth with Soviet-style bureaucracy. The NITI will act more like a think tank or forum, in contrast with the Commission which imposed five-year-plans and allocated resources to hit set economic targets. Feb 8, 2015
