Vietnam's Prime Minister invites Indian business leaders to invest in Vietnam

New delhi, Oct 28 (ANI): Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung invited Indian business leaders to invest in his country's infrastructure projects. Dung addressed a seminar hosted by India's leading industry bodies such as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi. Dung hoped that the investors would enjoy the mutual benefits in Vietnam and bolster bilateral trade between the two countries. Rajnath Singh flags off 'run for oneness' in New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday (October 26) flagged off a marathon in New Delhi, organised with an aim to spread message of oneness and harmony. Conducted by a charitable foundation, the marathon of around 8.4 kilometers was flagged off from National Stadium and more than 15,000 people aged 16 and above participated in the run, wearing white shirts and blue caps, symbolizing the message of peace. The theme for this year's run was 'smiles for miles and miles'. Singh flagged off the event along with Arjuna award winner Sunita Godara, 1992 Asian Marathon champion, who also holds a record for running maximum marathons by an Indian. Asian Games medalists felicitated

New Delhi/ Manipur, Oct 23 (ANI): The medal winners of the recently-concluded 17th Asian Games met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. The Prime Minister congratulated the sportspersons and expressed hope that they will continue bringing laurels for the country. The medal winners were also felicitated by the Sports Ministry at an event in the Capital. Union sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and other MPs were present at the event. While the gold medal winners were awarded Rs.20 lakh each, the silver and bronze medalists got Rs 10 and 6 lakh each respectively. The recently concluded Asian Games held in Incheon in South Korea saw India finish at the eighth position in the medal's tally. At a separate felicitation programme boxer MC Mary Kom was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of India's Incheon Asian Games campaign. The pugilist was awarded a cash prize of Rs.10 lakh by the organizers. Mentally-ill women celebrate Diwali with gaiety in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 22 (ANI): Home for mentally-ill women organised a programme on the eve of Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, in Odisha. The home, 'Mission Ashra', or Mission Shelter, organized a cultural programme for the inmates in Bhubaneswar city, who have been abandoned by their families as they are mentally-ill. Women danced and burst crackers to celebrate the festival. The home houses almost 200 mentally-ill destitute women and works for their treatment and rehabilitation. It has been rescuing helpless women from streets and other places across the 15 districts in the country. Diwali is celebrated with great fervour and gaiety all over India as it marks the return of Hindu god Lord Rama to Ayodhya in northern India after he defeated Ravana, the powerful demon king of Lanka. Families of policemen killed by rebels honoured in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Oct 20 (ANI): Family members and relatives of over 335 police personnel who were killed by Naxals in Jharkhand were honored at an event organized by the state police. The event called 'Shahid Samman Samaroh' (martyr honor programme) was held at the grounds of the Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) in Ranchi. Family members of the deceased personnel of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were also honored on this occasion and their problems were also heard by the state police officials. Director General of Police (DGP), Jharkhand, Rajiv Kumar, said they will be with the families of the killed policemen in their thick and thin and will make sure that they face no trouble. Oct 20, 2014
