Allahabad, June 21 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) workers on Saturday brought a train to halt while protesting the central government's rail fare hike. The Ganga Gomti express was brought to a halt by party workers while it was enroute to Lucknow. The Central government's decision to increase rail passenger fares by 14.2 percent and freight rates by 6.5 percent have met with a stiff resistance from opposition parties. Jun 21, 2014

Another candidate dies in Mumbai police recruitment drive, BJP demands probe

Mumbai, June 18 (ANI): Another candidate died on Wednesday in the Mumbai police recruitment drive which had attracted thousands of aspirants from across the state. At least five candidates have died till now in the drive due to tough training and poor living conditions. Twenty four year old candidate, Gahininath Latpate, passed away in Mulund's Platinum hospital, where he was admitted after falling ill during training. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya questioned the carelessness behind the unfortunate deaths. The candidates said they have to put up with lack of proper lodging and facilities.
