JD (S) releases manifesto, focuses on farmers and promises more jobs

Bangalore, April 11 (ANI): Janata Dal (Secular) Chief HD Deve Gowda, promised to provide more jobs and fight against inflation and give a boost to country's slowing economy in his party manifesto. Gowda released the manifesto in the presence of party members in Bangalore on Friday. The JD (S) unveiled a slew of farmer-friendly proposals, besides promising waiver of all loans of farmers, weavers, fishermen and artisans. It has also proposed development of industrial corridors, strengthening the industrial sector, which will enhance growth and development of the economy. Apr 11, 2014

Around 300 employees of Toyota Kirloskar Motor report back to work after stand-off

Bangalore, April 05 (ANI): Around 300 employees of Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported back to work in Bangalore as production at the plant continued in a ‘single shift’, still not being able to meet the high demand. Toyota Motor Corp's Indian unit temporarily closed the plants where some workers had stopped production lines to protest a delay in salary hikes after 10 months of negotiations. Addressing the mediapersons, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Vice-Chairman Shekar Viswanathan, confirmed that some employees have returned to work in the plant. Bangalore, April 03 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, hit at ruling Congress saying it has not nominated any leader for the top post as they have no one to match the stature of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Naidu slammed Congress for its false promises and accused the party members of indulging in dirty politics. Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday in Bangalore, Naidu said that the party was running away from the debate on the promises and performances. The senior leader also pin-pointed on the failed promises of the party especially the passage of the bill for 33 percent reservation of women in parliament and the party's election manifesto promise of providing one-third reservation for women.
