Rani Mukerji inaugurates self defence workshop for school girls in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 24 (ANI): Promoting her recently released film ___Mardaani___, Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji inaugurated a self-defence course for girls of all municipal schools in Mumbai. Mukerji plays the role of a tough police officer out to bust a child-trafficking ring, in the flick. It was launched by the State Commission for Women of Maharashtra, where a digital copy of a book called ___Know Your Rights___ was also launched. Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Rakesh Maria and other dignitaries also attended the programme that was held in Kavale Math Municipal School at Malabar Hill area in the city. The training of the self-defence skills will be a part of the school syllabus. It will be taught to girls twice a week. After south Mumbai, the programme will be followed across the state. Nainital, Aug 13 (ANI): A fruit processing unit in hill town of Nainital in Uttarakhand has become a popular name by producing a variety of products from apples and savouring the taste buds. The owner of 'Fruitage', Sanjeev Bhagat said that for the past 20 years the fruit processing unit has been producing a great variety of pickles, juices, squash, jams, chutney and sweet jam pickles 'murabbaa' from as many as 20 variety of apples, which are liked by people across the nation. The unit is primarily run by women workers, who are involved in multiple tasks, right from peeling the apples to boiling them, sweetening them, making different products out of them and packaging as well. The unit is also known for providing employment opportunities to women. The products made out of apples at the fruit processing unit are gaining popularity among tourists as well. Aug 13, 2014
