Politicos on Chinese President s three day India visit

New Delhi, Sep 17 (ANI): Political leaders on Tuesday reacted over Chinese President Xi Jinping s visit to India. Xi Jinping will arrive in Ahmedabad on Wednesday afternoon on a three day state visit. He will be received by Gujarat Governor OP Kohli, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and her cabinet colleagues at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport at around 2 p.m. President Jinping, his wife and his entourage will be given a traditional welcome along with a guard of honour. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will welcome him in Vastrapur, after which, both leaders will hold talks. It is expected that both sides will sign three memoranda of understanding (MoUs). Of them, two are for relations between Guangdong and Gujarat and Guangzhou and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The third MoU is related to cooperation in the industrial sector. Sep 17, 2014

President receives warm welcome on arrival in Vietnam

Vietnam, Sep 15 (ANI): President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, received a warm welcome on arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, on a four-day visit to strengthen bilateral ties. The visit will mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Mukherjee was also given the ceremonial guard of honour. He is scheduled to hold talks with the Vietnam Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung and his counterpart, Truong Tan Sang, on issues of international, regional and bilateral importance. Sikh committee prepares food packets for flood-hit Kashmir

Poonch/ Amritsar, Sep 15 (ANI): The Sikh organisation, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), prepared food packets for the people of flood ravaged Jammu and Kashmir as thousands of families starve. Members of SGPC, the apex religious body of Sikhs, in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir made deep-fried breads and cooking vegetables for the food packets which will be airlifted to Srinagar on Monday. Meanwhile, Deputy Director of Amritsar Airport, Sunil Dutt said 400 tonnes of rice has been sent to Srinagar through the aircrafts of Air Force and they have also initiated a helpline number. New Delhi, Sep 14 (ANI): Delhi BJP on Sunday flagged off a truck loaded with relief materials for the people stuck in flood ravaged Jammu and Kashmir. Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay flagged off the truck and said that the party is even ready to send their workers to the flood affected state for help in rescue operations. Meanwhile, many Kerala tourists stranded in the flood hit state of Jammu and Kashmir arrived at Delhi airport on Sunday and thanked the authorities for the help provided. Relatives were seen relieved to see their acquaintances as they returned safely from the valley. Faizabad/ Bhopal/ New Delhi, Sep 14 (ANI): A number of evacuees returned safely back home and reunite with their families and loved ones while Sikh temples in Delhi send packed food items prepared in the community kitchen to victims of flood-ravaged Kashmir. The pilgrims who returned gave credit to the Indian army and Modi government for their safe rescue. The pilgrims were then airlifted from helipad at Governor's house to the airport in helicopters, from where they were flown to their destinations. Nearly 200 people have been reportedly killed and thousands have been left stranded or homeless in one of the devastating floods that hit Jammu and Kashmir. People shared their traumatic experience in the floods. Some said that the situation was rather grim whereas others were of the view that besides the army, the locals were also very supportive to the stranded flood victims. On his return, one of the victims Vikas Agrawal, attributed his safe return to the selfless help by a local travel agent. The Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai witnessed poignant and emotional moments as anxious people saw their friends and family return after experiencing a natural disaster that has shaken up the entire nation.
