Mumbai, Feb 25 (ANI): In an update for Pradeep Jain murder case, Abu Salem has been found guilty by TADA court in Mumbai and sentenced to life imprisonment. Lawyer Ujjwal Nikam said that the close aide of Daud Ibrahim, Abu Salem has been found guilty of murdering builder Pradeep Jain and also threatening other builders for ransom. Dhaka, Feb 19 (ANI): Senior Islamist leader of Bangladeshs Jamaat-e-Islami Abdus Subhan was sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal court in Dhaka for crimes committed during the 1971 war of independence with Pakistan. Subhan was the chief of Jamaats Pabna unit and was in charge of the party's highest policymaking body during the post-Liberation War in 1971. He has been charged with nine crimes against humanity, including murder, genocide, abductions, detention, torture and loot. Subhan was arrested at the toll plaza of the Bangabandhu Bridge in capital Dhaka on Sep 20, 2012. He was later shown arrested in the war crimes case and was sent to jail. Mumbai, Feb 16 (ANI): Bollywood actor Salman Khan did not have a driving license when his car rammed into a pavement in Mumbai in 2002, killing one person and injuring four others, said prosecution on Monday. Khan is accused of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the hit-and-run case, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. On Monday, the statement of a local Road Transport Officer (RTO) was recorded before the court. Khan has been booked under Section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code (rash and negligent driving), 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing minor injuries), 338 (causing major injuries) and 427 (negligence) in regard to the 2002 case.
