New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): Differentiating reaction come in as VHP continues its ‘Ghar Wapsi’ programme and claimed that it re-converted at least 300 tribal Christians back to Hinduism in Gujarat. While BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain & Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that the re-conversion was voluntary and were not carried out by force, the opposition leaders had a different view. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that such acts will give a wrong image of India to the world. JD (U) leader Ali Anwar said that all the secular and democratic forces of the country should and together against such forces. ISRO launches country's heaviest rocket GSLV Mk-III

Sriharikota, Dec 18 (ANI): Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the country's most powerful and heaviest rocket GSLV Mk-III on Thursday morning. The rocket was lifted off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota right at its scheduled time. If successful, this mission will take India a step closer towards the much-delayed human spaceflight programme. Weighing 640 tonne, the three-stage rocket with two S-200 solid boosters, stated to be the second largest in the world liquid and cryogenic stage, is nearly 50% heavier than the existing Geo Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). While the rocket cost ISRO Rs140 crore, the crew module has taken another Rs15 crore. The GSLV-Mk III would carry the 3.65 tonne crew module even as the national space agency is equipping itself for its plan of sending astronauts into space eventually. Govt calendar will help take forward Clean India Mission: Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday unveiled Indian government's calendar for the year 2015, which is a convergence of two projects - Clean India Mission and Digital India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Clean India Mission in October with an aim to modernize sanitation within five years. At the launch programme in New Delhi, Jaitley was accompanied by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Broadcasting Secretary Bimal Julka. A digital version of the calendar was also launched. Jaitley said the digital calendar will promote Digital India, a government's initiative to integrate the departments and the people across the country to ensure effective governance reducing paperwork. BJP Parliamentary meet ends, PM asks ministers to maintain 'good governance'

New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): After BJP Parliamentary meet ended on Tuesday, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party discussed on 'good governance day' among many other issues. Naqvi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior leaders were present at the event. He went on to say that the party discussed on five way programme to be carried on for 'good governance day' on December 25. Naqvi also said that the PM has asked the ministers to maintain good governance. The prime minister also saluted the martyred army personnel on 'Vijay Diwas'.
