Constable shoots wife dead, attempts suicide in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, July 25 (ANI): A police constable allegedly shot dead his wife near the gate of a Government Multi-specialty Hospital in Chandigarh on Friday, before turning the gun on himself. The constable reportedly fired seven rounds at his wife who was an employee at the hospital. She died on the spot. Later, he tried to commit suicide but survived. Another woman also sustained bullet injuries in the shooting. She is believed to be out of danger. Jul 25, 2014

Glasgow, July 24 (ANI): The colourful event of Commonwealth Games 2014 kicked off in Glasgow after some enthralling dance and singing performances at the Celtic Park and a minute's silence for the victims of the Malaysian Airlines crash. Queen Elizabeth II travelled by train to Glasgow and declared the games open at the end of the evening's ceremony. Around 6,000 athletes gathered for the opening of the Commonwealth Games. The Games, open to athletes from the 53 Commonwealth of Nations, feature 22 sports. At least 12 children, driver killed as school bus collides with train in Telangana

New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): At least 12 children are feared dead after a train crashed into their school bus at an unmanned railway crossing in Medak district of Telangana on Thursday. The bus driver was also killed. The bus was carrying around 40 children of the Kakatiya School. Witnesses say the bus was dragged for some distance. TRS has called the incident very unfortunate. Railway Minister assures more safety measures after Maoists blow up railway track in Bihar

New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): Speaking on the railway track explosion by Maoists in Bihar, Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday said that fortunately no causalities have been reported. He further said that he will contact CM of Bihar and will seek more help in patrolling the railway tracks in that area.
