President Pranab Mukherjee arrives in Finland

Finland, Oct 15 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Finland on a two-day official visit after completing his visit to Norway. He was received by Secretary of State Peter Stenlund at the airport in Helsinki. Mukherjee is accompanied by a high level delegation to Finland where he is expected to meet Finnish president, prime minister, foreign minister and the speaker. He will address a Business Seminar in Helsinki and attend an official lunch hosted by its Mayor. He will also visit 'Arktikum' museum, Arctic Science Centre, Rovaniemi and cross the Arctic Circle. Cyclone Hudhud: Navy Chief R K Dhowan on relief and rescue operations

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan on Tuesday said that Indian Navy is lead service with regard to operation Lehar and priority is to provide relief material to the surrounding areas of Andhra Pradesh and wherever required. Naval diving and relief teams have already been deployed to the various district of the state. Efforts are also on to carry out a survey to find out the damage in the naval airport and other areas, however there is no major damage to Ships or submarines. After Cyclone Hudhud battered the Andhra coast, the Indian Navy launched 'Operation Lehar', a massive search and rescue operation, to assess the damage and rush help to areas still reeling under the effect of the devastating storm. The country's defence crisis management group nominated the Navy to undertake the lead rescue and relief operations in Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Odisha. Oct 14, 2014

CBI says no foul play in Gopinath Munde's death

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly ruled out any foul play in the death of former Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde. The CBI was given the responsibility of probing the reasons behind the death of Munde following demands made by a number of senior BJP leaders who had suspected foul play in the accident. Munde died on June 3 this year after his car was hit by another vehicle in Delhi while he was on his way to the Indira Gandhi International Airport to take a flight to Mumbai. Union Health Minister Harshvardhan had then said that Munde had died of injuries to his cervical spine and liver. Oct 8, 2014
