Canada's Parliament attacked, one suspect dead

Ottawa, Oct 23 (ANI): A gunman attacked Canada's parliament where Prime Minister Stephen Harper was speaking. The gunman was shot dead inside the main building of Ottawa's Parliament Hill in Canada and Harper was safely removed from the parliament. The incident took place after a soldier was reportedly shot and wounded at the Canadian War Memorial nearby. Police and tactical teams have secured the area, and Parliament is in lockdown. According to the reports, the shooter was chased by police into the main parliament building called Centre Block where at least 30 shots were fired. Visitors flock Jim Corbett National Park as it reopens post Monsoon

Ramnagar, Oct 15 (ANI): Visitors flocked to see tigers roaming free and wild in the world famous sanctuary at Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand as it reopened on Wednesday after four months of closure because of the monsoon. According to Deputy Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Dr Saket Badola, the Bijrani zone has been reopened today while the other zones will reopen on 15th of November. Jim Corbett National Park was established in 1936 to safeguard the endangered tiger. It is primarily a tiger reserve but there are around 600 species of birds and animals - out of which 586 are birds. Police arrest Maoist commander in Ranchi

Ranchi, Oct 14 (ANI): In a special operation Jharkhand police arrested a Maoist commander who was part of more than fifty militant activities in the region. The police received information that two Maoist groups would be meeting near the Joomla hill area in Ranchi on October 11. An operation was launched by the police and the area was surrounded. He added that around 75 mines had been recovered in the area along with arms and ammunition.
