Chennai, Oct 18 (ANI): Celebrations began in Chennai on Saturday evening as former Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa arrived here after spending 22 days in Bangalore Central Jail following her conviction in the disproportionate assets case. Scores of AIADMK workers and supporters had gathered outside the Chennai Airport to have a glimpse of their favourite leader, who arrived here from Bangalore in a chartered plane. Jayalalithaa, who was driven to her residence amidst tight security arrangements, waved towards the supporters. Many of Jayalalithaa's supporters broke out in impromptu celebrations and cheered as her convoy passed them. Bangalore's Police Commissioner MN Reddi said that security has been fully tightened along the route which Jayalalitha is expected to be brought out from jail. He added that they are not yet informed about the time by which she will be out of jail.
