Muzaffarnagar, Dec 31 (ANI): Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Chief Mahmood Madani on Monday distributed relief supplies to Muzaffarnagar riot-victims languishing in the relief camps in Shamli district, where more than 34 children have died due to lack of basic amenities to fight the cold weather conditions. Slamming the state government, Madani said that the Chief Minister of the state has failed to fulfill his responsibilities towards the victims and the people are suffering due to discrimination. Muzaffarnagar, Dec 28 (ANI): Muzaffarnagar riot-hit victims languishing in relief camps rubbished state government’s report, which stated that death of 34 children in the camp was not due to cold. Victims, on Friday criticised the report of a fact-finding committee that claimed death of children in the camp was not only because of cold but also due to other health and circumstantial problems in the camps. The victims also challenged authorities to come out and experience cold weather. UP govt admits death of 34 children in Muzaffarnagar relief camps, draws protest

Lucknow/ Muzaffarnagar/ Varanasi, Dec 27 (ANI): Amid a raging controversy over numbar of deaths in Muzaffarnagar relief camps, Uttar Pradesh government has admitted that 34 children below the age of 15 died in the camps for the riot-hit victims. Forty-five people have died in the prosperous sugarcane district of Muzaffarnagar and surrounding areas since clashes erupted between Muslims and majority Hindu Jats. This was concluded in a report by a fact-finding committee of the state government. Earlier, Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had made a remark where he stated that those living in the relief camps are not riot victims, but conspirators and political activists planted by Congress party and the BJP.
