Protest continues against Aamir Khan's 'PK'

New Delhi/ Mumbai, Dec 28 (ANI): Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers on Sunday protested against Aamir Khan's recently released 'PK' in Mumbai. The protesters alleged that Khan had hurt religious sentiments of Hindu community and demanded ban on the movie. Delhi also witnessed similar protest against the movie wherein protesters tore the movie posters outside the theatres. Meanwhile, Yoga Guru and religious leader Baba Ramdev also slammed the flick and said that the same should be stopped from showcasing in theatres. Dec 28, 2014

New Delhi/ Agra, Dec 27 (ANI): Politicos condemned Bajrang Dal on Saturday as the group introduced 'bahu lao-beti bachao' campaign. Notwithstanding the controversy generated over the 'love jihad' and 'ghar wapsi', Bajrang Dal has announced 'bahu lao-beti bachao' campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Bajrang Dal state convenor Ajju Chauhan said that the "bahu lao-beti bachao" campaign will be a reply to "love jihad" and will seek to bring girls from Muslim or Christian communities as daughters-in-laws for Hindu families. Congress leader Rashid Alvi and SP's Naresh Agrawal condemned the central government and said that they have fallen short of issues and therefore are now trying to deviate from the topics. Birpara, Dec 27 (ANI): Several tribal groups on Saturday have called for shutdown in Birpara area of Alipurduar district of West Bengal following the attacks by the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) which killed over 80 people. NDFB militants killed over 80 people in the Sonitpur, Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of Assam ths week. Various groups such as All Assam Tea Tribes Student Association, Adivasi Chhatra Sangathan, Akhil Assam Bhojpuri Parishad, All Assam Minority Students' Union (AAMSU) and seven other groups had observed Bandh in several areas of Assam even on Friday. Prime Minister Modi took to twitter for extending his wishes. "Tributes to Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya on his birth anniversary. A man ahead of his time, he devoted himself to nationalism and education," tweeted Prime Minister Modi. Respectfully addressed as 'Mahamana', he was an educationist and politician notable for his role in the independence movement and his espousal of Hindu nationalism. Malaviya is most remembered as the founder of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) at Varanasi in 1916, the largest residential university in Asia and one of the largest in the world. The Prime Minister will also be visiting Banaras Hindu University to garland the statue of Bharat Ratna winner, educationist, great social worker and freedom fighter Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya on his birth anniversary and then will drive to Assi Ghat to inspect cleanliness programme started by him during his previous visit to Varanasi. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the visit.
