New Delhi, Oct 02 (ANI): A weak rupee coupled with a range of quality healthcare options focussed on providing hassle free healing experience to the foreign patients is driving a boom in India's medical tourism industry. The study conducted by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) said the fall in the rupee has made medical treatment cheaper for foreign patients by nearly 25-30 percent and has also led to a spur in the number of foreign patients arriving in India over the past six months. Media reports said that 53-year-old Dutt, who is currently lodged in Pune's Yerawada jail, has been given this benefit to be able to spend some time with his family. He is currently serving a 42-month sentence in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case. Dutt is reportedly said to be experiencing pain because of blood clots in his legs.
