Pune needs green zones, says Prakash Javadekar

Pune, Dec 22 (ANI): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that Pune, which is reeling under pollution, needed forest lands. After holding a detailed discussion of creating green zones in the city, the minister said there was a need to make the city environment-friendly. Indian nurses stranded in Libya return home

Kochi, Dec 20 (ANI): A first batch of 12 nurses that was stranded in war torn Libya have returned to Kochi. The nurses, who had shared their ordeal through a video appealing for help, have been evacuated by the Indian government. The 12 nurses arrived at the international airport around 2.30 a.m on Friday. The nurses had pleaded for help to return back to India at the earliest as they have not got their salaries for the past four months. A nurse, Jisha, narrated her ordeal upon arriving back from Libya. Earlier, the nurses stranded at Benghazi in Libya were shifted to a safe hospital but there they found it difficult to even have basic food as they had no money in the strife-torn country. Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid arrives in New Delhi on official visit

New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): President of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid, arrived in New Delhi on Thursday on a six-day official visit to India. India's President Pranab Mukherjee had invited him to visit India and also to be a guest at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The Bangladeshi President is expected to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and other senior leaders. He was received at the airport in New Delhi by Junior Foreign Minister, General (retired) V.K. Singh. The Bangladeshi President's visit is expected to contribute to further strengthening and expanding the bilateral relations between the two countries.
