Ahmedabad car mishap: Two killed, five injured; minor driver detained

Ahmedabad, July 23 (ANI): Two persons were killed and atleast five injured in Ahmedabad on Wednesday when a car allegedly being driven by a 14-year-old ran over a family sleeping on a pavement. The boy has been detained and is being questioned. The incident took place at around 2:30 am early Wednesday when the driver of the car lost control and it rammed into a hut. Bangalore, July 22 (ANI): Bangalore’s new Commissioner MN Reddi, who took charge replacing Raghavendra Auradkar met the delegation of parents and authorities of Vibgyor High School over the case of a six-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped on July 02. The school has been shut since July 17. Reddi said that the parents are given assurance and are asked to send back their children to the school. Meanwhile, BJP workers staged a massive protest over the rape of the minor girl. The protesters broke the barricades and a scuffle between the protesters and police officials ensued. Meanwhile, Police also baton charged the protestors. On Sunday, police arrested a skating instructor in the case and will present the accused before the court. Family of woman murdered brutally in Lucknow demands CBI probe

Deoria, July 21 (ANI): Family of a 32-year-old woman, who was found dead with grisly wounds in her private parts in Lucknow defied police report that said there were no traces of rape before murder, and demanded CBI probe. The victim_s mutilated body was found in a school in Mohanlalganj area of Lucknow on Friday. Earlier it was speculated the woman was gang-raped before the murder, due to multiple injuries and stab wounds, but police on Sunday claimed there was only one accused involved in the crime and his attempt to rape before killing had failed.
