Reliance Industries along with Tendulkar and Bollywood biggies launch ISL

Mumbai, Aug 29 (ANI): Leading business tycoon Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries along with a clutch of sports and Bollywood stars came together to launch a football championship that aims to popularise the game in the cricket-mad country. The tournament is being hailed as 'birth of a foot balling nation'. A host of celebrities from Bollywood and cricket world graced the occasion in Mumbai. Scheduled to start from October 12, Indian Super League (ISL) was officially launched by Ambani's wife Nita Ambani in the presence of Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and other co-owners of the eight franchises from across the country. Indian Super League would also feature Bollywood celebrities like Salman Khan, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Varun Dhawan besides the sport's icon Sachin Tendulkar who are keenly associated with the sport. BSE closes points 77.96 up on August 28

New Delhi, August 28 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 77.96 points up to stand at 26,638.11. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 17.25 points up to stand at 7,953.30. NATIONAL ALUMINIUM CO LTD. and TATA COMMUNICATIONS LTD were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 8.37% and 5.08% along with GUJARAT MINERAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD. and BHEL with an increase of 4.46% and 4.10% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include BHUSHAN STEEL LTD and IOB with a decrease of 4.97% and 4.80% along with JPPOWER and INDIAN BANK with a decrease of 4.70% and 4.69% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 39.99 points at 17,289.97 while the banking sector is up 13.64 points at 18,003.68 and the reality sector is down 33.55 points at 1,727.44.
