Lucknow, Aug 5 (ANI): Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday said that strict action would be taken against all those behind the Meerut incident. Three persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged abduction, gang-rape and forced religious conversion of a 20-year-old woman in the Kharkhauda area of Meerut district. Political leaders on Tuesday demanded action as tension gripped Meerut where the 20-year-old madrasa teacher was allegedly gang-raped and forced to convert into a community. The woman has alleged that she was forcibly converted to Islam in a madarsa in Hapur. In addition, she has said she was held captive in another madarsa in Muzaffarnagar for three days, where she was sexually assaulted. The woman managed to escape from captivity on August 2 and contacted her family who rescued her and later filed a complaint with the police. Aug 5, 2014

SC appoints one member commission to enquire into 2006 Meerut fire tragedy

Meerut, Aug 01 (ANI): Supreme Court of India appointed a one-member commission for inquiry into a fire tragedy, which took place at a consumer fair in 2006 in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh, killing at least 51. The Court bench has ordered that the commission will be headed by former Supreme Court judge SB Sinha. The court also approved a compensation of rupees five lakh for families of the deceased, two lakh for seriously injured and 75,000 for people with minor injuries to be given by the state government. Bangalore: Two gym instructors arrested for allegedly raping 6-year-old

Bangalore, July 29 (ANI): Bangalore police have arrested two more gym instructors in connection with the rape case in which a six-year-old had been allegedly raped in school premises. Police commissioner MN Reddi, on Tuesday said that the first grade student was assaulted by Lal Giri and Wasim, who worked as gymnastic instructors in the VIBGYOR High International School. Reddi said so far there was not enough evidence against another suspect, Mustafa alias Munna, who was working as skating instructor in the school since 2011.
