New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj on Tuesday denied receiving any showcause notice from the party over his controversial statement wherein he said that Hindu woman must give birth to at least four children to protect the religion. Sakhshi Maharaj rubbished media reports in this regard as untrue. According to reports, the notice has been sent on the direction of BJP President Amit Shah and Sakshi has been asked to respond within 10 days his position on why he continued to make "controversial statements which go against the party line despite having been warned." New Delhi, Jan 12 (ANI): Politicos and social activist on Monday condemned BJP's Sadhvi Prachi for her statement wherein she said that all Hindu women should produce at least four kids and also asked for a law in favour of 'ghar wapsi' programme. Congress leader Manish Tewari questioned if this is what PM's 'Make in India' actually signifies. Congress' PL Punia said that the prime minister should take action in the matter. AAP leader Ashutosh said that this is the real agenda of BJP and that development agenda was just a cover up. CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat said that women of India will give proper reply to these leaders. Prachi said that Hindus should give one of their children to the Army, one to the religious saints, one to the VHP and keep one child to themselves. It Happens : Devotees throng ghost fair to be exorcised of evil spirits

Malajpur, Jan 9 (ANI): Thousands of devotees thronged a village in Madhya Pradesh for annual ghost fair. People from various states flocked Malajpur village, 300 kilometres from Bhopal city, to free themselves from evil spirits. The month-long fair begins on the tenth month according to the Hindu calendar. People, apparently, possessed by evil spirits are taken to Guru Deoji Maharaj temple where the priests and sorcerers perform various rituals. During the fair, devotees who are believed to be possessed by evil spirits dance in a state of trance. It is said that besides obviation from evil spirits, the devout visitors believe that all their wishes come true after praying at the temple. Jan 9, 2015

The magazine, 'Himalaya Dhwani', brought out by the women wing of VHP published Kapoor's picture, half covered with a burqa with title reading 'Love Jihad-dharamantran se rashtratran' (religious conversion to conversion of nationality) on its cover page. CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat said such elements were gaining strength due to RSS. Bollywood actor Raza Murad said that Kapoor was free to take her life decisions.
