The actor tweeted: The news by media that PM and PMO have asked me to be involved in a campaign film, is incorrect!! Kindly rectify... thank you!! Reports had suggested that the ad campaign was for promoting communal harmony in the country. Big B has been the face of the Gujarat tourism when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of the state. Hill resort of Shimla gears up for tourist rush

Shimla/Manali, Dec 31 (ANI): Authorities in Shimla have stepped up security arrangements in view of an unprecedented rush of revellers for the New Year celebrations. People have been thronging several tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh, but capital Shimla has recorded the maximum footfall. Deputy Commissioner of Shimla district administration, Dinesh Malhotra, said additional 200 police and home guards have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident. The snow-bound region is the favourite destination of the tourists from the plains of northern India. Hoteliers are expecting a good business this season after authorities lifted travel advisories following improvement in weather. The state tourism department is organizing an annual winter carnival in the first week of next year in a bid to attract tourists. Hundreds of chickens found dead in Shimla, trigger panic of bird flu

Shimla, Dec 30 (ANI): The mysterious death of hundreds of chickens triggered bird flu panic in hill town of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. Nearly 323 chickens were found dead by the police during a routine checking from a truck that was heading towards Kinnaur district of the state. It was later reported to the animal husbandry department. As a precautionary measure, the department destroyed the remaining lot of the broilers. Last month India found two outbreaks of a highly contagious bird flu virus in Kerala, prompting the authorities to cull more than 2,00,000 birds, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) said. The snow-covered hill resort has always been the preferred holiday destination for domestic as well as foreign tourists for ice games. Tourists throng Shimla to enjoy ice skating

Shimla, Dec 28 (ANI): Domestic tourists thronged hill town of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh and enjoyed ice skating. As per reports, it is Asia’s oldest skating clay surface rink and got a natural coating of thick ice for the first time. People, including locals, thronged the rink with their skates and instructors also helped them to skate with ease. A tourist from Delhi, Luv, said he had a wonderful experience of ice skating for the first time. The secretary of the ice skating club in Shimla, Manpreet Singh, said that if sub-zero temperatures continue, the rink will be open for a month. Shimla, the summer capital during the British Raj, witnesses a rush of tourists during Christmas and New Year. Officials say there has been a significant rush this year with both domestic and foreign tourists visiting Shimla and nearby tourist destinations of Kullu, Manali and Kufri. Tourists, mostly from southern and northern states, visit Shimla to enjoy the cold weather. Vice-Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board, Vijay Singh Mankotia said hotels were offering discounts to lure the visitors.
