Bangalore, July 19 (ANI): Parents in Bangalore took to streets on Saturday to protest against the recent rape of a six year old girl in a school. The protesters marched to the streets in a long queue and held banners reading anti rape slogans. Parents scared of sending their child to school demanded justice and strict punishment for the culprits as soon as possible. The parents, especially who have daughters expressed concern over the safety of their children and said that they are scared of sending their kids to school. New Delhi/ Mumbai, July 19 (ANI): The recent brutal rapes in Bangalore and Lucknow have sparked up furious reactions from social and women_s rights activists across India. Women_s rights activist Abha Singh attacked the Uttar Pradesh government over the gangrape and murder of a woman in Lucknow, saying that law and order has broken down in the state and if the government cannot protect the women of its state, then it should be dismissed. Chairperson of NCW Shamina Shafiq threw light on the appalling number of rapes that take place in UP each day while women_s rights activist Neelam Katara pointed out to the endless delays, which have plagued the justice system. Social activist Kiran Bedi said that whether it is Bangalore or UP, India is in a need of social revolution that addresses the backwardness of the mindset of Indian men. Tension erupted as two staff members allegedly raped a six-year-old girl on the premises of a prominent school. He added that no laxity in the case will be tolerated and the department was working systematically to arrest the accused. Parents assembled on the school premises and staged a protest, accusing the school authority of inaction. They alleged that school management was not addressing the issue with utmost urgency. Bangalore /New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Members of a student organisation and BJP on Friday protested against the rape of a six-year-old girl by two staff members in her school in Bangalore.The crime took place on July 02 in the school campus during class hours and the child is now receiving treatment in hospital. Members of student organisation Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) gathered outside the school and staged a protest, accusing the school authority of inaction. They said the government should step up their efforts and address the issue with utmost urgency. The girl was allegedly raped by a security guard and a gym teacher. Meanwhile, BJP leaders also protested outside the assembly against the ruling Congress government for its failure to take steps. Bangalore, July 17 (ANI): Agitated parents protested in Vibgyor High School in Bangalore as a 6 year old girl was sexually assaulted in the school. The parents said the school _tried to cover up the matter_ and did not inform them about the incident, which took place on July 2. The Chairman of the school, Rustom Kerawala, assured that safety measures will be improved in school to keep all the students safe. He added that the school authorities are co-operating in investigation and confirmed that the suspected accused have been taken in police custody. However, the parents said they are not satisfied by the statements the school is giving. Meanwhile, Bangalore DCP TD Pawar said that the matter was reported quite late but he assured that action will be taken against the culprits. Reportedly, the girl was taken to a hospital after she expressed discomfort at home, which was when it was revealed that she was raped.
