New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): After winning the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi on Friday said that it is a matter of pride and honour for all fellow Indians and those fighting for rights of children in the world. Satyarthi said that this will give strength to the struggle of millions of children and this development has made India proud. Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi wins Nobel Peace Prize 2014

New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): Children's rights activists Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan and Kailash Satyarthi of India were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 2014 on Friday. The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the names of the two "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education." The award also comes with a $1.24 million check. Yousafzai, now 17, is a schoolgirl and education campaigner in Pakistan who was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman two years ago. Satyarthi, 60, has maintained the tradition of Mahatma Gandhi and headed various forms of peaceful protests, "focusing on the grave exploitation of children for financial gain," the Nobel committee said. Karnal, Oct 04 (ANI): Ahead of assembly polls to be conducted in Haryana and Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick started the election campaign on Saturday. Addressing a rally in Haryana's Karnal district Modi said that to ensure development of the state, people need to vote for a Congress-free government. Modi said that the Haryana government is spreading lies and saying that the central government has stopped exporting Basmati rice. However, in reality, Congress in Haryana has imposed 4 per cent tax. The PM further said that Congress government did not do anything for pilgrims travelling to Kailash Mansarovar yatra whereas Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opened a new road to facilitate their travel. Modi said that to determine a better future for the state, people have to vote for Congress-free Haryana. He added that people need to elect a stable government in Haryana with majority which will allow him to do work in the state. Mumbai, Sept 26 (ANI): Ketan Mehta's 'Rang Rasiya', starring Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen had a musical music launch in Mumbai recently. The event saw live performances by singers Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan, Roop Kumar Rathod, Rajeshwari Pathak and Anwarbhai, the king of Rajasthani folk music. Based on the book Raja Ravi Varma by Marathi author Ranjit Desai, the film chronicles the life of India's famous painter Raja Ravi Varma. The film is being released after six long years because of its controversial subject. The movie also features Nandana Sen, Vipin Sharma and Paresh Rawal. PM Modi issues statement, says peace and stability in relations and along borders essential

New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jinping signed 12 agreements and gave a joint-statement from Hyderabad House on Thursday. Modi while addressing the media said that he was happy to welcome the Chinese President Xi Jinping. He said that he has requested the Chinese president to make it possible for the Indian companies to get easier access in the Chinese market. Modi thanked Jinping for agreeing upon making an alternative route to Kailash Mansarovar via Nathu La for pilgrims. Commenting on the border incidents and the boundary questions, Modi said that he expressed his concern over these issues and that for peace and stability in the relations between the two countries, border clarity on LAC is important and essential.
