Defence firms showcase their capabilities at Indian aero show

Bengaluru, Feb 21 (ANI): Aero India 2015, the premiere air show of Asia, hosted a range of defence equipments showcased by firms from world's leading defence suppliers in India's IT hub Bengaluru. The 10th edition of the international event is themed on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 'Make in India' project in aerospace, defence, civil aviation, airport infrastructure and defence engineering. Countries like the U.S., Russia France and Israel are participating in the event and are acknowledging the nation's growing defence market and hope to contribute to the same. Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), OIS Advanced Technology Limited, NK Sharma, spoke about indigenous 3D radar systems, namely 3D Bird Detection, Tracking and Monitoring and Deterrence Radar System and Ground Surveillance Radar System. BSE closes points 247.38 down on Feb 20

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 247.38 points down to stand at 29,214.89. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 61.70 points down to stand at 8,833.60. SREI INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCE LTD and IDBI were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.82% and 8.42% along with CONCOR and JAIN IRRIGATION SYSTEMS LTD. with an increase of 7.59% and 6.05% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include PMCFIN and Bajaj Finance LTD with a decrease of 4.09% and 3.98% along with GODREJ CONSUMER PRODUCTS LTD. and DEN with a decrease of 3.82% and 3.78% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 14.94 points at 19,832.70 while the banking sector is down 137.33 points at 21,819.46 and the reality sector is up at 12.02 points at 1,761.25. Japanese business leaders call on PM Modi

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): President of Japanese industrial company Hitachi, Toshiaki Hingashihara, called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Hitachi, a leader in construction machinery and air-conditioning systems in India, is expanding in new areas such as information and telecommunication systems, power systems, industrial, transportation and urban development systems. Hingashihara reportedly is willing to contribute towards the development of India as he believes it is becoming an increasingly important country for Hitachi's global growth. The company wants to participate in government-led efforts and provide a wide range of products and solutions, such as social infrastructure systems as advanced medical devices and railways, say reports. Reactions come in over India's nuclear deal with Sri Lanka

New Delhi/ Chennai, Feb 17 (ANI): Congress party took a dig at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party after the Narendra Modi-led government signed a nuclear energy agreement with Sri Lanka. This deal is India's first breakthrough with the new government of the tiny Indian Ocean island where China has been building ports and highways in a diplomatic push in recent years. Under the deal, India will help Sri Lanka build its nuclear energy infrastructure, including training of personnel, the Indian foreign ministry said. Later, India could also sell light small-scale nuclear reactors to Sri Lanka which wants to establish 600 MW of nuclear capacity by 2030, a Sri Lankan official and an Indian analyst said earlier. Meanwhile, Tamil Activist Thirumurugan Gandhi also the founder of May 17 Movement for the cause of Eelam Tamil society's struggle for a separate Eelam Nation, criticised the growing ties between the two nations. President Mukherjee hosts banquet for his Sri Lankan counterpart

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee hosted a banquet for his Sri Lankan counterpart, Maithripala Sirisena in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his predecessor Manmohan Singh and other senior leaders attended the event in the presidential palace, Rashtrapati Bhawan. The two neighbours had signed a nuclear energy agreement earlier.
