Srinagar, Nov 1 (ANI): Fired with the ambition of carrying the flag in the games, Kashmir trains its budding golfers for the 2020 Olympics. Authorities of this picturesque Himalayan state have come up with initiatives to train the budding golfers with proper professional techniques and special trainers from outside the state have been recruited for the purpose. Organiser of the special golf training programme, Champa Shawl, said on Friday that Kashmir, with its beautiful golf courses is the ideal state to nurture golfers. Irish national found dead at Chandari railway station

Kanpur, Oct 29 (ANI): The mutilated body of an Irish national was found lying beside a railway track at Chandari station near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday (October 29). The deceased has been identified as Ivan Mainwaring, reportedly a national of Ireland. The police are considering this case to be a railway accident so far. Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector, Chandari railway station, Mahadev, said that it seemed that Mainwaring died after falling off a moving train. Police are investigating into the matter. Sports stars hail govt's training initiative for athlete ahead of Olympic Games

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Sports stars hailed Modi government's initiative of better training programme for athletes ahead of Olympic Games in a bid to enhance their performance to bag more medals for the country. The Sports Ministry has decided to start a "Target Mission Olympic Podium Scheme", an initiative promoted by National Sports Development fund to identify sports personnel and train them for Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics and other major sporting events up to 2020 games. Appreciating the government's plan, Cricketer Rahul Dravid said the initiative will not only encourage the sportspersons but will also play a major role in increasing the medal tally of India in the future events. Olympian boxer Mary Kom said she being part of the planning committee would help in structuring a better programme for sportspersons, which would in turn help to boost their performance on the international platforms. West Bengal: One dead, four injured in TMC-BJP clash

Birbhum, Oct 27 (ANI): In a clash between the BJP and TMC workers, one person is reportedly killed and 4 injured in Birbhum district of West Bengal on Monday. Out of the four injured who sustained bullet injuries, the condition of two is reportedly critical. The Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been deployed in the Makra village, where the violence took place. Many villagers have also reportedly fled the area. The violence comes days after assailants hurled bombs at three policemen, including the officer-in-charge of a West Bengal police station, in Birbhum last week.
